We run a herd of Traditional Hereford cattle, producing and selling breeding animals and meat produce. All the cattle are grass-fed and reared outdoors year round, allowing each animal to grow at their own pace.

This suits our farming philosophy where we seek to harness natural processes in a way that complements and increases the overall health of the ecosystem around us.  We do not use any chemical fertilizers but give careful attention to soil fertility through our grazing techniques.  We believe this translates directly into animal health and meat quality.

Traditional Hereford cattle are a rare, native breed with genetic ancestry tracing back to the 1800’s.  As a native breed, we have found that they thrive on our hilly location in Rhydri.

Cow farming

“I move the livestock on to fresh grazing almost everyday.  This gives the animals the natural grass they can thrive on and allows the ground to rest for longer.  I measure and record grass growth through the year and have seen a noticeable improvement in the amount and quality of grass on the farm.  Rebecca teases me that I dream about grass!”

Cow Cuts of Meat

The meat from Hereford and Traditional Hereford cattle is renowned for its marbling, giving it a unique, rich flavour.

Our beef is 21 day aged and butchered by a local Welsh butcher.  Each cut is individually vacuum packed and labelled for your convenience.
